Sitting amid other Lonely Planet regional guidebooks, Choun Nhiem's smiling face looks out from the cover of the guide to Cambodia at a bookshop in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Choun Nhiem is one of the most famous faces in Cambodia. For years he has swept up around Ta Prohm, one of the most popular sites in the world-famous Angkor temple complex. Thousands of people have taken photos of his stooped figure sweeping up leaves beneath the old walls and towering trees. A couple of years ago, a photographer snapped his photo, which ended up on the cover of the most recent Lonely Planet travel guide to Cambodia, greatly increasing Choun Nhiem's popularity, if not his income..
