Calliandra haematocephala is wonderful vine with multiple uses in the garden. It can twine up around a post and give life to a patio cover, espalliered to a wall with cable or twine, or be used as a large billowing background shrub providing privacy and elegance to a perimeter of a property. The Pink Powder Puff can get up to about 12-15 feet tall if trained upwards on a trellis. Large red bottle brush-like blooms appear in Fall and Winter with an occasional bloom appearing throughout the year. Plant Calliandra haematocephala in fertile soils and does best with moderate to regular watering. However, will still typically thrive in moderate drought conditions. Native to Southeast Asia's Borneo Island. USDA Zone: 9-11.
